So you’ve decided to learn how to drive…
Everyone learns in different ways. Some find it easy, and some find it hard. Some people may have passed their tests long ago and not driven for many years and just want to gain confidence back on the road.
Or it may be that you have come to the UK from abroad, and may need to pass a UK driving test.
So how does it work?
Well for a start, I only work on a one to one basis so when you come to Steve’s School of Motoring, one of the first things we’ll do is work out what driving experience if any you have had, and to give you the very best chance of passing your test, and will help turn you into a safe and confident driver.
Then I’ll work out how many sessions we can fit into a week. I usually recommend at least a one hour lesson each week and nearer your test I recommend you extend this to a minimum of one and a half hour lessons, (depending which test centre is being used for your test) because most people find this works best. But it’s your call and we’ll fit around your life as best we can.
Driving lessons are a big commitment both in time and money. You will have certain expectations when you start. I will explain things clearly whilst listening to your point of view, and of course I will teach you to drive and prepare you for your test within a realistic timescale and budget.
Learning to drive should be fun! One thing I never forget when teaching is to make each lesson enjoyable and hopefully memorable making sure you don’t get that sinking feeling each time your lesson comes around!
